The long wait for results are over now as the Assam Board is going to announce the 12th class results for Arts, Commerce and Science stream today.
This year, pproximately 2.5 lakh students have appeared for the class 12th higher secondary examinations. As per sources, 2,08,845 candidates have registered for the humanities examinations where as 27,969 students wrote the examinations from the science stream. The number of candidates who registered from the commerce stream was 16,815. A total of 1232 vocational students also took up the examination.
The Assam Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) is responsible for determining the policy-related, administrative, cognitive, and intellectual direction of the state’s higher educational system.
The board regulates and supervises the system of Intermediate education in Assam State. It executes and governs various activities that include devising of courses of study, prescribing syllabus, conducting examinations, granting affiliations to colleges. MPBSE also provides direction, support and leadership for all educational institutions under its jurisdiction.
The Assam Legislature, in the sixteenth year of the Republic of India, enacted an Act for the establishment of a Board in order to regulate Secondary Education in Assam and other ancillary matters. In 1965 this autonomous body was established under The Assam Secondary Education Act,1965.
